Ep 2: He Chose to Stay

Happy Holy Week, friends. I'm in my office today, taking a moment for my Pulse Check.

This week, it's hard not to feel the heaviness of thinking about what the Lord did on the cross, and the sacrifice that happened that day for us. We don't always stop and sit in what it actually cost.

And it wasn't just about the cross. It was about the Lord's obedience. That's what has been heavy on my heart this week.

It wasn't the nails that held Him up. The nails were just the vessel. He could have stopped it at any moment. He could have defended Himself against all the things people were saying. He could have explained everything and proved everyone wrong, because they were wrong. But He didn't. He chose obedience.

I think sometimes I forget that part. The Lord chose to stay. It was a choice, not because He had to, but because He was obedient to the Father. And that obedience came from His love for the Father.

That hit me differently this year. Because if I'm honest, I don't love like that all the time. I want to be understood. I want to be right. I want things to feel fair. If people are saying things about me, I want to correct that. But Jesus stayed, even when it wasn't fair. He stayed when it hurt. He stayed in the moment when it didn't make sense.

That wasn't weakness, which is what the world sometimes tells us. That was strength. We don't talk about that enough. The kind of strength that trusts God even when it doesn't look like it's working.

So this Easter isn't just about a celebration. I want to step into that kind of obedience personally. The kind that says, God, I trust You even here. Even when it's uncomfortable. Even when I don't get to explain myself. Even when it costs me something.

So here's the Pulse Check today. Where is God asking me to stay obedient when I'd rather walk away into comfort? Because what looked like loss on that cross that day was actually the greatest victory of all time. And maybe those places in your life that feel the hardest right now aren't the end of your story either.

Let's sit with that today. Happy Easter. Happy Holy Week. Happy Resurrection Sunday.
