Ep. 1: Where God Meets Us
Hi friends, I'm Heather, the director of Altrua Ministries, and I wanted to start something new here. A weekly Pulse Check. Just a quick moment of encouragement from someone who is also in the middle of real life.
I'm a busy parent. I'm sometimes a little frazzled. I'm trying every day to surrender more and more to the Lord, take care of my body, stay in the Word, work faithfully, keep up with the never-ending laundry, and somehow still be fully present for my family and friends. I don't show up perfectly every day. Most days, really. I'm just learning as I go. But I have found that small moments with God reset everything.
So each week, from wherever I happen to be in that moment (today it's my work parking lot), I'm going to share one short encouragement and one scripture to help center our hearts again.
Today's verse comes from Matthew 11:28. "Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
I love that Jesus doesn't say come to me when you have it all together. He doesn't say come to me after you've listened to an hour of worship music, or come when your to-do list is done, or that never-ending laundry I mentioned. He says come when you're tired, when you're bogged down, when you're stressed out, when you're caring too much.
So if today feels heavy, you don't have to push harder. You just have to invite the Lord into your chaos. Let this be your reminder this week that God meets us where we invite Him.
Thank you for being here. I'll see you again next week for another Pulse Check.
